Contractors recently completed construction on 7.5 acres of surface and drainage improvements at Seaboard Marine’s terminal at PortMiami.

The project is one of many infrastructure improvements that Seaboard Marine and PortMiami are jointly undertaking as part of a long-term effort to improve the security, capacity, and efficiency of the 87-acre Seaboard Marine terminal. Projects recently completed include a new maintenance and repair facility and installation of hundreds of new permanent refrigeration plugs. Upcoming improvement projects slated to start later this year include berthing upgrades and expanded usage of refrigerated container racks.

Bruce Brecheisen, Seaboard Marine Executive VP, said, “Combined with many other recent improvements, these drainage and pavement upgrades will improve our productivity by allowing for better cargo alignment and organization within our entire terminal. The result will be improved efficiency and quicker turnaround for cargo containers and the truckers who deliver them. We are appreciative of PortMiami’s funding and support of this vital project.”
