Seaboard Marine wishes to advise our valued customers that we are monitoring Hurricane Laura as the strengthening storm moves towards the U.S. Gulf Coast.

The U.S. Coast Guard imposed MSIB condition” Zulu” on the Port of Houston this morning. As a result, the Jacintoport cargo terminal is closed today, August 26, and will likely also be closed on August 27. If the port reopens on August 28, it is expected that the M/V AS Petra will dock as the vessel has sailed northbound from Guatemala and is safely trailing Laura.

The Port of New Orleans has reopened this morning. The M/V Nordbaltic is scheduled to depart on its southbound voyage this afternoon and proceed on its regular rotation.

Many of our ships have been delayed in recent days due to the challenging weather conditions and temporary port closures in many countries due to Hurricane Laura and Tropical Storm Marco, including Jamaica, Haiti, Dominican Republic, Guatemala, and Belize. All foreign ports are now open, though.

As Laura’s trajectory and strength continue to evolve, we will provide additional updates as developments occur.

We appreciate the patience and support of our customers during the 2020 Hurricane Season.
