Seaboard Marine wishes to advise our valued customers of Tropical Depression Eta’s impact as we continue to track the storm. Tropical Depression Eta is moving northeast over Honduras. The storm is expected to head into the Caribbean on Friday and move northeast towards South Florida.

This morning, the U.S. Coast Guard imposed readiness condition Whiskey upon PortMiami, indicating that all terminal operators should begin preparations for potential tropical storm conditions within 72 hours. Our PortMiami facility is operating normally but has started appropriate actions.

Our offices in Nicaragua, Honduras, and Guatemala are open today. Puerto Cortes, Honduras, reopened this morning and will begin accepting vessels for berth and cargo operations. Santo Tomas, Guatemala, reopened today for vessel operations. However, the cargo terminal is open for gate activity.

Trucking operations in Nicaragua, El Salvador and Guatemala are suspended until road and weather conditions improve. Expect delays throughout the week due to the persistent rain and flooding of roadways throughout the region.

The M/V Patriot Voyage 254 commenced cargo operations in Puerto Cortes.

The M/V AS Petulia Voyage 37 bypassed its regularly scheduled call at Puerto Cortes, Honduras, due to the port’s closure.

As Eta’s path continues to develop, we will continue to monitor and provide updates on operations and the vessel’s status as developments occur. The safety of our staff, crews, vessels, and our customer’s cargo is of the utmost importance.

We appreciate the patience and support of our customers during this active 2020 Hurricane Season.
