Seaboard Marine wishes to advise our valued customers of Hurricane Iota’s impact as we continue to track the storm.

Iota made landfall along Nicaragua’s coast as a Category 4 hurricane Monday night and has since weakened. Portions of the Honduran and Nicaraguan coasts remain under a tropical storm warning. Heavy rainfall and flooding are a major concern.

Our offices in El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua are open today. The port in Puerto Cortes, Honduras,  is now closed as of 2:00 PM EST due to weather conditions; however, the terminal remains open.

Trucking operations between Puerto Cortes, Honduras, and Nicaragua are suspended today until the storm passes. Trucking operations throughout El Salvador and Guatemala are being monitored closely. We will advise of any changes that would prohibit the movement of cargo.

As Iota’s path continues to develop, we will continue to monitor and provide updates as developments occur.

The safety of our staff, crews, vessels, and our customer’s cargo is of the utmost importance.

We appreciate the patience and support of our customers during this active 2020 Hurricane Season.
