Seaboard Marine wishes to advise our valued customers of Hurricane Eta’s impact as we continue to track the storm.
The slow-moving storm made landfall along Nicaragua’s coast as a Category 4 hurricane Tuesday afternoon. The center of Eta is expected to move over northern Nicaragua through early this afternoon and then move across the central portions of Honduras through Thursday morning.
Our offices in Nicaragua, Honduras, and Guatemala are open today. However, due to weather conditions, the ports in Puerto Cortes, Honduras, and Santo Tomas, Guatemala, are closed for vessel operations. However, both cargo terminals are open for gate activity. Trucking operations to and from Nicaragua are suspended due to heavy rain and flooding in Honduras. Trucking and vessel operations will resume when conditions improve.
The M/V Patriot Voyage 254 is at anchor waiting for weather conditions to improve in Puerto Cortes before berth and cargo operations commence.
The M/V AS Petulia Voyage 37 bypassed its regularly scheduled call to Puerto Cortes, Honduras, due to the port’s closure.
As Eta’s path continues to develop, we will continue to monitor and provide updates on operations and the vessel’s status as developments occur.
The safety of our staff, crews, vessels, and our customer’s cargo is of the utmost importance.
We appreciate the patience and support of our customers during this active 2020 Hurricane Season.
