Seaboard Marine wishes to advise our valued customers that we are monitoring Hurricane Laura as the storm moves towards the U.S. Gulf Coast.
The U.S. Coast Guard imposed MSIB condition”X-Ray” on the Port of Houston last night and is expected to escalate such conditions to “Yankee” later today. As a result, the Jacintoport cargo terminal will be closed tomorrow, August 26, and will likely also be closed on August 27. If the port reopens August 28, it is expected that the M/V AS Petra will dock as the vessel has sailed northbound from Guatemala and is safely trailing Laura.
The Port of New Orleans remains closed. The M/V Nordbaltic Voyage 35 is delayed until operations return to normal. The vessel will then proceed on its regular rotation.
Many of our ships have been delayed due to the challenging weather conditions and recent temporary port closures in many areas due to Hurricane Laura and Tropical Storm Marco, including Jamaica, Haiti, Dominican Republic, Guatemala, and Belize. All foreign ports are now open, though.
As Laura’s trajectory and strength continue to evolve, we will provide additional updates as developments occur.
We appreciate the patience and support of our customers during the 2020 Hurricane Season.
