Seaboard Marine wishes to advise our valued customers that we are actively monitoring Tropical Depression Nine as it moves through the Caribbean towards the Gulf Coast.
A Tropical Storm Warning is in effect for the Cayman Islands. The port and our office in George Town, Grand Cayman, closed today, as of 12:30 PM EST, and are expected to remain closed tomorrow, August 27, 2021.
Instead of continuing its voyage, The Seaboard Sun voyage 1162 will remain in Kingston, Jamaica today, August 26, and tomorrow, August 27. The vessel is now expected to service Grand Cayman on Sunday, August 29.
The U.S. Coast Guard has placed the port of New Orleans under preparation condition “Whiskey”. As a result, the M/V A/S Petulia voyage 50 will not call New Orleans as scheduled due to the storm’s projected path and will instead proceed to Puerto Cortes, Honduras, expected to arrive Monday, August 30, and Santo Tomas, Guatemala on August 31. Import cargo scheduled for discharge in New Orleans will remain onboard to transship via another vessel.
As Tropical Depression Nine’s path evolves, we will continue to monitor and provide updates as developments occur.
The safety of our staff, crews, vessels, and our customer’s cargo is of the utmost importance.
We appreciate the patience and support of our customers during the 2021 Hurricane Season.
